Gifts for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2012 – Part 2

Here are some more great gift and shopping ideas for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2012:

6. We’ve talked about A Lot to Say before. They are an eco-conscious, toxin-free lifestyle line that also has a philanthropic partnership with Stand Up To Cancer. Amazingly, their products are manufactured completely using recycled plastic bottles. I had a chance to try out one of their t-shirts, and the cloth is amazingly smooth, soft and sturdy. A large portion of proceeds from their products, including the stylish pink totebag you see to your right, will support this amazing cause. Mothers, sisters, daughters, wives and friends can all fall victim to breast cancer. It’s that natural strength that women have that carries them through this, and the same courage we must carry to honor them. Whether we are surviving or remembering, let’s celebrate these powerful women with a few chic-pink items this Breast Cancer Awareness month!

7. Your passion for football can help save more lives. Ticketmaster has teamed up with the NFL and the American Cancer Society to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the NFL’s “A Crucial Catch” campaign. And you can help by supporting your team! Ticketmaster and the NFL are contributing* 10 cents to the Society for each NFL resale ticket sold on NFL Ticket Exchange from October 1 – 31. Be a fan for life in more ways than one. Go to games knowing you’re helping women get access to annual screenings, crucial lifesaving prevention info, and improved treatment options. To learn more or make a donation directly, go to NFL.com/pink.

pink stapler8. If you’ve never heard of Poppin, boy are you in for a treat. It’s a new kind of office supply company that features incredibly cool pens, tape dispensers, staplers, and every other office supply product you can think of. How could these things be “cool”? Take a look for yourself on Poppin.Com. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Poppin will proudly donate 10% of October’s Pink product sales – including the Tickled Pink Bundle – to Young Survival Coalition (YSC). YSC is the premier global organization dedicated to helping young women diagnosed with breast cancer. YSC offers resources, connections and outreach so women feel supported, empowered and hopeful. Awareness can mean survival – and pink is the link.
9. 1-800-Flowers has a great collection called  the Pink Ribbon Collection in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 10% of proceeds of selected products will go to the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. There’s a beautiful bouquet in a ceramic pitcher, chocolate covered Oreos (!), chocolate covered graham crackers, and a huge gift basket, so there’s something for everyone.  I should say that after looking carefully at all the products in the rest of the collection, it appears that only four of the products (the ones on the top) donate a portion to breast cancer research, so the other products below those top four seem to just be pink products that don’t have any percentage donated to charity. Keep that in mind when deciding what products to buy from them. One of 1-800-Flowers’s sister companies, Cheryl’s, is also having a breast cancer-related promotion where you can purchase from their Pink Frosted Cookie collections and get 15% off during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (valid until 10/31/2012) when you use promo code BCA15

pink pens10. The great office supply store Zuma, which already donates a portion of all proceeds to charity, has a cool promotion this month for pink ribbon Uni-ball Gel pens (the color of the pen is pink, but the ink is black). With your $50 order you’ll get Free Pink Ribbon Uni-ball Gel Pens. Purchase item number SAN1745148 and use code SANOCT10. It’s a $5.20 retail value, and some of the proceeds goes to help City of Hope. but hurry, it’s only available until 10/31/12.
