While visiting Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin desert home in Scottsdale, Arizona a few days ago, I came across this in the gift shop. It is Frank Lloyd Wright’s “Fallingwater”. Bar none, it’s one of the absolute coolest Lego sets you’ll find anywhere.

The first thing to know is that the kit is not for kids. No bright primary colors, pirates or Jedi knights here. Instead, you’ll find a Lego set that serves as a tribute to the nuances of the great work of architecture and as a nod to the great architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

It’s great for architecture buffs and grown-ups who grew up loving Lego as kids. Putting together the set will not only bring back the fun of building Lego as a kid, it also serves as great insight to the architecture of Fallingwater (the set was designed by an architect), and also produces a fine work of art suitable for display in any home library or living room.

If sets like Lego’s Statue of Liberty are any indication, this set will have a short run, and then will skyrocket in value.

The lowest price I could find for this set is at Barnes and Noble. Lego has paid a licensing fee to the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, so purchasing this set will help support that fine organization. But to maximize your contribution, you can go online and purchase this set at the official Fallingwater museum store.
