Book to teach kids about a life with disabled parent

May 1st, 2010 · 1 Comment · Uncategorized

Mama, Won’t You Play With Me? is a children’s book by Meg Walsh about a baby duckling whose mother can’t play with him because she has a broken wing. The duckling visits other animal mothers to play with, but at the end of the day is still sad. Coming home, he is happy when his mother hugs him and tells him she loves him.

It’s a great book to read with a child who has a mother with a disability to help them understand how precious a mother’s love is.

A portion of the proceeds for every book sold this month, will be donated to the Lupus Foundation of America. After that, she will choose another charity every few months.
